Above Average End To The Week
Temperatures this past week have been up up up! As high as 20 degrees above the average for this time of year in State College, with temps in Philly soaring above the 90 degree mark. The warmth did not arrive with precipitation however, with showers plaguing the Commonwealth along with severe weather. Several severe thunderstorm warnings were issued by area NWS offices and tagged with considerable damage from hail.
This weekend will take a turn for the cold as temperatures head back down to Earth just in time for Earth Day next week. Rain will arrive early Sunday morning here in Happy Valley and bring the chance for a few rumbles of thunder.
The cold front on Sunday will be the main driver of cool conditions for the start of next week. Temps will shift several degrees below average, which is around 60; a stark contrast from the theme of this past week.
